Crotchet and Quaver Triplets
Triplet quavers fall in between the speed of the quaver and the semiquaver, or eighth note and sixteenth note, and triplet crotchets fall in between crotchets and quavers.
Let’s see how these note values relate to each other, once again leaving the metronome on crotchet = 100
Exercise 1
This is a basic exercise which decreases the speed of each bar from semiquavers, through triplets then quavers, crotchet triplets and crotchets, finishing on a semibreve. To achieve this we are increasing the note values fractionally each bar.

Exercise 2
Being able to go the other way is just as important. Increasing the speed of each bar by decreasing the note values.
